前の前の記事で適当な訳をつけましたが、英語の詞は春にアメリカで買った Robert Gottlieb and Robert Kimball, ed., Reading Lyrics (New York: Pantheon Books, 2000) という700ページを越す歌謡曲詞集から写しました、WEBサイトのコピペでなくて。カリフォルニア時間の「April 2 2009年4月2日アルバニ（カリフォルニア）の空とユーカリゴマその他 [天気 weather]」で回るユーカリゴマの下にあった本です。あのときは正確な歌詞云々と書きましたが、書き写している途中で、なんだかパンクチュエーションとかヘンな感じがしました（元がそうなのかもしれませんけれど・・・・・）。ベタで、句読点をそのままに、改行しないで行頭を大文字にしないで書き写すと、つぎのようです。――Take my hand, I'm a stranger in paradise, all lost in a wonderland, a stranger in paradise. If I stand starry-eyed, that's a danger in paradise, for mortals who stand beside an angel like you. I saw your face and I ascended out of the commonplace into the rare! さて、勢いで訳したのですけれど、あとから検索したらいくつか日本語訳が見つかりました。そのなかで、ミュージカルにおける男女のパートの歌をそのまま機械的に訳しているものがあって、興味深かったので、引きます。「Kismet - Stranger In Paradise 日本語歌詞」 <http://lyrics.xydw.com/m/movie/kismet/stranger-in-paradise/ja/>。英語もいちおう機械的に添えておきます。ミュージカルの歌詞についての考察はまたいずれ。
